DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ADVOCACY TRAINING
FCR is proud to regularly offer a 40 hour domestic violence advocacy training program for the benefit of all in the community.
Since its initial launch in 2022, FCR's 40 Hour Domestic Violence Advocacy Training Program has successfully trained and certified over 150 individuals to work safely with survivors of domestic violence. Our program takes a research-based, interactive approach to ensuring that all attendees are taught through an intersectional, trauma informed lens.
The training program is broken down into ten sessions, and attendees also have "homework" that includes articles, videos, and opportunities for self-reflection. Throughout these sessions, participants engage in important dialogues, participate in role playing activities and listen to presentations by the training facilitators. Topics range from DV 101, to the developmental impact of abuse on children and families, working in the Intimate Partner Abuse Education program and more. For more information on the full curriculum and topics offered, please reach out to Zoe.
FCR is committed to offering the best possible training opportunities for all, and will do our best to provide any possible accommodations for attendees.
