February 2021 Newsletter

Message from the President

2020 was a challenging year for Family and Community Resources, Inc. As we negotiated the daily challenges of the pandemic, we once again surpassed the previous year’s data for not only the number of survivors we served, but the number of community partners FCR continues to work with and the “friends” of FCR who supported us.

It’s a testament to the commitment and compassion of our Board of Directors, our staff and volunteers and our financial supporters. 2020 was anything but an easy year for all of us as we have had to navigate through change after change in our procedures in an effort to continue the hard work we do seven days a week, 52 weeks a year.

We have asked more from our staff and volunteers than ever before, with many working from home while caring for their families and schooling their children. Our Board and Sr. Managers have spent the better part of 2020 making certain each of the staff had everything necessary to continue the critical work we do day in and day out.

During the past year, Family and Community Resources, Inc. successfully moved four programs to wonderful new, bright space that is both welcoming and accessible. We rehabbed our beautiful old Victorian on Newton Street, totally upgrading the electrical system and parking lot and, successfully devised a plan to meet with clients in crisis in an outdoor setting, maintaining safety for all involved.

As we move into 2021, we look forward to a year of hope and healing, of strength and resilience, and of inclusion and understanding. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to support the critical work of Family and Community Resources. We look forward to welcoming the “new normal” with you over the coming months.

Stay well and stay safe,

Patricia Kelleher-Parker
