Pat Kelleher, FCR’s President and CEO said it best, when she said, “This years Walk for Survivor Safety was an incredibly powerful coming together of community partners, staff and volunteers to show support for the thousands of survivors -young and old- that FCR reaches each and every year. We could never have done this without the support of our amazing sponsors, donors and our wonderful volunteers!
As l looked around at families eating and laughing together, friends and colleagues re connecting face to face, I thought of how long it has been since we have had that pleasure and it warmed my heart. But what warmed it even more, was when a lovely young woman and an adorable child came up and thanked me for all FCR did to help her get a safe place to live and raise her child free of abuse. She could not stop talking about all the staff who had assisted her on her journey and was so happy to be at the walk with people who truly cared about her little family. But the best part was when her child smiled up at me and told me they now have a new kitty!”
